According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Arak Municipality, Alireza Mahmoudi, the mayor of the metropolis of Arak, stated at the 207th open council session: This action, alongside the previous 50 vehicles, will make Arak's public transportation fleet more equipped. He added: In the first nine months of the current year, Arak Municipality has carried out or is carrying out a broad set of construction, service, and cultural projects, indicating a comprehensive approach to urban development, infrastructure improvement, and enhancing citizens' quality of life. The mayor of Arak stated: These measures in various areas, from crisis management and transportation to urban regeneration and the development of cultural and sports spaces, present a clear picture of the municipality's efforts to respond to the growing needs of citizens. Mahmoudi continued: In the completed projects section, the construction of a sanitary landfill, geometric improvements to streets, and the implementation of pedestrian bridges are among the municipality's notable actions. He added: The 50 billion toman cost for pedestrian bridges, which had remained stalled for five years due to interference with the power grid, was finally realized and these projects were put into operation. The mayor of Arak said: The urban wastewater transmission line was also completed with funding of more than 40 billion tomans, and the Shohada-ye Asnaf Bridge was completed as a heavy and costly project. Mahmoudi noted: In the area of administrative and service buildings, the construction and equipping of the buildings in District 2 was carried out at a cost of 80 billion tomans for each building, and the Crisis Management Base No. 2 and the Sardaran Square park-and-ride facility were also put into operation. He added: In the tourism and cultural sector, the construction of a vehicular bridge at the end of Shohada Street with a cost of 11 billion tomans, the prayer hall in the Gerdou tourism area, the regeneration of Shahid Bahonar Forest Park, the construction of the Qanat Naseri Cultural Center and the equipping of its educational classrooms, as well as the construction of artificial turf fields in Sajjadiyeh and Andisheh neighborhoods are among this city's important projects. The mayor of Arak stated: This institution has also carried out notable actions in the social sphere; the construction of Mehr schools and the development of the second phase of the cemetery are part of these activities. In the ongoing projects, the Farahan grade-separated intersection with 92 percent physical progress and the Farud Road grade-separated intersection with about 22 percent progress are among the key projects of Arak Municipality. Mahmoudi continued: Resolving conflicts and relocating high-voltage power poles along these routes has been one of the serious challenges. He said: The water park project in Gerdou Valley, supported by the City Council, has started as a leading project and has so far made 10 percent progress; the flying chair project is also under implementation with 65 percent physical progress, and its operation is planned for next year. The mayor of Arak said: In the cultural and religious sphere, the prayer hall in Gerdou Valley and the Aftabgardan Hosseiniyeh have been inaugurated with full progress. Mahmoudi added: In the urban services section, the construction of the Taleghani Street fire station with funding of more than 100 billion tomans and its equipping with modern lifts has begun and has so far made 10 percent progress; the Mohseni Street parking lot with 23 percent progress and the Industrial City market with 33 percent progress are also being completed. He noted: Another market in the slaughterhouse with 60 percent progress is under way, aimed at creating an appropriate distribution network and reducing selling prices for citizens. The mayor of Arak added: In the construction sector, the municipality has been able to carry out 141 thousand tons of asphalt paving in the first nine months of the year, and implement about 40 thousand meters of curb installation and 36 thousand meters of paving. The production of more than 110 thousand concrete pieces in the municipality's factory and the operation of a 110-thousand-ton crusher in the asphalt plant have fully provided the city's required material production capacity to the municipality; this action, in addition to meeting internal needs, has also made it possible to sell part of the materials. Mahmoudi continued: In the public transportation section, the purchase of two crane trucks and one roller from Hepco Company has been completed, and more than 18 thousand tons of asphalt were spread and distributed on the southern ring road to rebuild the heavily trafficked route for heavy vehicles. He said: Completing the city's entrance and exit bridges along this route will be an important step in reducing traffic load and directing heavy vehicles out of the city. The mayor of Arak emphasized: The Arak River coastal wall project, with a height of 5.5 meters, is also under implementation and aims to create a safe and suitable space along the riverbank. Mahmoudi added: In the public transportation sector, a contract to purchase 20 electric buses at the same previous price was signed, and 12 of them are to be added to the fleet. He added: This action, alongside the previous 50 vehicles, will make Arak's public transportation fleet more equipped; moreover, the country's most advanced electric charging station has been established in Arak. The mayor of Arak said: In the small but impactful social services section, the plan to install benches next to bakeries was implemented. By installing seats at around one hundred bakeries, this plan has made it possible for the elderly and those in need to sit, and it has been welcomed by citizens. Mahmoudi continued: In the field of information technology, the municipality has taken important steps toward smartification and paper elimination; building police patrols have been equipped with tablets, and sending map instructions will be done digitally. He stated: A cooperation agreement with Astan Quds Razavi's Fava was also signed in this regard so that modern, paperless services can be provided to citizens. The mayor of Arak stated: In the first nine months of the current year, this institution has been able to take effective steps in sustainable urban development by implementing construction, cultural, social, and technological projects; from building bridges and administrative buildings to regenerating green spaces and equipping the public transportation fleet, all these actions have been aimed at improving citizens' quality of life and creating a safe, beautiful, and efficient city.
