According to the Communications and International Affairs Department of Arak Metropolitan Municipality, in line with organizing the administrative system and improving workforce productivity, Arak Municipality took action to draft and document job descriptions. Within the framework of the job description drafting and organization plan, 250 job description titles were prepared and sent to the consulting company "Simorgh" for review. Of these, 211 job descriptions were approved after specialized expert assessments, achieving an 84% approval rate.
The Deputy for Planning and Human Capital Development, speaking about job descriptions in the municipality as one of the main pillars of human resource management, said: A job description includes detailed explanations of the duties, responsibilities, skills, experience, and knowledge required for each position. Drafting a convincing and clear job description, while providing the basis for attracting the most qualified applicants, enables employees to clearly know what actions fall within their duties and, as a result, their performance and productivity increase significantly.
Faraji noted that job analysis is a key step in drafting job descriptions, and stated: In this process, job analysis first involved collecting, reviewing, and interpreting data related to job duties. This stage was carried out using methods such as observing how employees perform their work, critical incident technique, questionnaires, and interviews. After drafting the daily and periodic duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and scope of accountability for each job, the resulting findings were shared with expert stakeholders and job supervisors, and if necessary, follow-up interviews with supervisors were conducted to incorporate their views.
It is worth noting that each job has been fully described and documented in the form of 15 specialized tables including dimensions, duties, competencies, and other required components. The necessary follow-ups to address corrective items and obtain final approval for the remaining job descriptions are also underway.
